Assess different sources of information.
How will the assessment take place?
l You will study a range of information sources, and blog your assessment of each source. Primary and secondary sources should be considered. Sources of information should include:
o CD Rom
o internet
o official records
o personal records
o photographs
o drawings
o plans
o paintings
o films
o photographs
o tape recordings
o physical remains
l For each source of information, you will:
o Give an assessment of the source
o Strengths and weaknesses
o Examples of when it can be used in public services
o Provide evidence of sources, or when they were used. This can be done in the form of web links or imported documents/material e.g. youtube video
Grading Criteria
Pass
Candidates give a brief assessment of different sources of information showing a basic understanding of the sources various strengths and weaknesses.
Merit
Candidates give a clear assessment of different sources of information showing a good understanding of the sources various strengths and weaknesses.
Distinction
Candidates give a detailed assessment of different sources of information showing an excellent understanding of the sources various strengths and weaknesses.
